the new and improved radio city chistmas show!

Everyone who knows me knows that I am no fan of broadway and everything that goes along with it. When I was younger I saw the older version of the Christmas show so I figured I would go this year to see the new one. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The rockettes did a great job and the show overall was wonderful. I enjoyed the new slow motion of the toy soldiers falling in slow motion and the little teddy bears prancing around everywhere. It truly was an enjoyable night out. Afterward we went to Carmine's restaurant in times square. Other than the huge crowd and crazy, loud atmosphere it was good. The food was decent but nothing I would go out of my way for again. It was a fun experience for the whole family and I'm glad I went along.

extended mall hours

Who wants to wake up at 730 on a Saturday to go work at the mall? Not me. Who wants to stay there until 1030 or later on a weekday with an 8 o'clock class the next morning? Definitely not me. Who wants to stay there until 1130 p.m. on a Friday night when they could be out with friends? Once again, I do not. The mall has extended its hours for the holiday season which is understandable but why isn't this extension made more public? Getting to the mall at 8:30 on a Sunday morning to sit around until 11:30 for the first customer to walk into the store isn't my kind of morning. No one knows the mall is open unless they park at the main entrance and stop to read the microscopic letters posted on the glass doors on their way in when they're more concerned with what they're looking for or on their way out when they just want to get out of the mall and get home. This extension is POINTLESS.

worst movie EVER

The Mist. Over Thanksgiving break my friends and I decided to go to a movie since we were all together again for the first time since the summer. A few of us had our hearts set on seeing Fred Claus but one person wanted to see a scary movie and recommended The Mist. None of us really cared so we went. It started off like typical scary movies. A dreary setting on the water. There was a storm that came and ruined a town.. trees overturned, cars crushed. Across the water in front of the mountains was a dense fog that no one had ever recalled seeing before. The father and son went to the grocery store about a mile away and ended up getting stuck there when the dense fog overtook the town and a man with a bloody nose ran in the store saying someone had been taken by the fog. Long story short people die from these mutants in the fog and some woman felt she was God's portal to earth and she knew everything that was going to happen. This movie was one of the stupidest movies i have EVER seen. A few of the people were able to get out of the grocery store and not be eaten by these things in the fog and they drove as far as they could without stopping. When they finally reached as far as they can go they had a gun that only had 4 bullets with five people in the car. The father killed the other four so he would be the only one that had to suffer from these things. As soon as he kills them and gets out of the car to face these mutants the army comes and he is saved.. Talk about a coincidence.

the holiday hype

winter - the merriest time of the year, right? not for all of us. for some of us the winter is the worst time of year. it may bring back bad memories and loved ones we lost or the cold may be all the reason we need to dislike it. i am one vote for the hating of cold weather. i do not like it, i dont like the crowded malls, long lines, and i definitely do not like spending money on everyone and anyone i can think of. worst of all i hate the tension it brings among everyone. seeing the family members that i see every other day of the week and seeing the family members i see once a year. i could go without ALL of it.

wickedly awesome

i do not like broadway plays. i saw a bunch when i was younger.. saw hairspray two years ago and wanted to jump off the balcony during the ENTIRE thing. when i went to see wicked the other night iwas expecting to feel the same way.. the opening scene was bland as most usually are.. but i somehow managed to become entrigued and watched the play wanting to see what would happen next and who turned out to be who in the wizard of oz. i am far from being a play person but i would definitely go see wicked again.

traffic

After a night of partying and having fun for halloween I was reluctant to wake up at 9 am to go shopping with my mom, sister, aunt and two cousins. We went to Woodbury Commons and made it there in an hour for an hour and a half ride. I think we may have gone to every store twice. We ended up staying there from 11 to 7. After a long day of walking around, I couldnt wait to just get home and lay down. Of course there was traffic and who was stuck sitting in the middle of the front seat? ME. I didn't get to sleep and I had to sit there and watch all the people rubbernecking, cutting one another off and just being stupid. Needless to say I collapsed when I got home and woke up an hour later and am now unable to fall back to sleep. 630am here I come...
